About The Journal of Health Psychology Research
The Japanese Association of Health Psychology has published The Japanese Journal of Health Psychology since 1988. This biannual journal, typically released in June and December, serves as a platform for disseminating health psychology research conducted in Japan.
In 1992, Japanese Health Psychology was launched to provide a venue for publishing English-language health psychology research from Japan. This journal was typically issued annually, until it merged with The Japanese Journal of Health Psychology in July 2006, following the publication of its 13th issue.
Reflecting the increasing globalization of the field, and after several years of deliberation, the journal's official title was changed to the Journal of Health Psychology Research starting with Volume 29, which was published during the 2016 academic year.
Despite its English title, the journal continues to welcome submissions in both Japanese and English. It features original research articles, data papers, case studies, review articles, and research reports that have undergone rigorous review by the editorial board. We encourage our members to use this platform to share their valuable research findings in health psychology.
As a general rule, Issue 1 is available exclusively in electronic format, while Issue 2 is published both electronically and as a combined print issue with Issue 1. Special issues are published solely in electronic format on J-STAGE. Please note that electronic access is restricted to the Association’s members (requiring an ID and password) for one year following publication.
